Mike was back to work today after 12 days vacation. Matt had to be at the hospital for 9:00 and Marcus had to be dropped off at Nanny’s before that. Back to solo mornings.
I set my alarm clock last night for 7:30 ~ plenty of time. I even remembered to turn the alarm clock ON. Smarter than the average bear, I am. 😉
7:51AM I bolt up out of bed like a shot. Why didn’t the ^%$# alarm clock go off? Oh wait. It did, I mean it is, I think. What’s going on? Oh brother. The ear plugs I have started using because of Mike’s snoring obviously worked better than I thought they did. Ooppss.
So now I’m in panic-mode. Fly out of the bedroom, have to get Marcus up. Thankfully I bump into him out in the hallway as he’s announcing to me that there’s blue sky outside. Yeah, ok, wicked, thanks for that Moo. I explain to him that I slept in and ask him (in the nicest, sweetest voice possible) to go get dressed as fast as he can. For once, my 4 year old didn’t argue or ask a million questions. I grab the least wrinkled thing I can find, look in the mirror and decide it’s an “it’ll have to do” hair day and I am amazed to be walking out the door at 8:22 right on schedule to drop Marcus off at 8:30 and be at the hospital in plenty of time. Yay me!
Matt and I arrived at 8:50 to find a really close parking spot so we were registering for EKG before we knew it. I think we might have been waiting less than 10 minutes when she called us. By 9:15 I was texting Mike that we were done en-route back to get Marcus and drop them all off home with Nanny.
Matt spent the day (because of a filed-trip) home cleaning out our shed, Marcus spent most of the day with Auntie Rhonda making muffins and I spent the day trying to recoup the time I lost this morning.
There’s nothing worse than sleeping in. Even though I ended up being on time for everything I was totally out of sorts. And now, I can’t wait to go to bed tonight ~ after Big Bang Theory, Flashpoint and Grey’s, of course.
Until next time…
