Don’t blink…

The difference a month can make.  April 3rd we were still digging out from a massive blizzard.

May 3rd we were digging our shovels into loads of gravel.

One month.  Craziness.  We have been busy burning leaves, raking, picking up branches and twigs seeing exactly how nasty Ol’ Man Winter really was to us this year (like we didn’t know).

Our first spring at The Hideaway is very much welcomed, for sure.  It’s fun to see the spring flowers popping up everywhere that we missed out on last year.  The grass is greening up nicely, the ice has left the river and the birds have returned singing their pretty tunes.

I don’t think I have ever looked forward to or enjoyed a spring season so much in my life.  My perspective of it all is so different now.  Who knew?  Even the ‘work’ we have to do isn’t ‘work’.  Everything seems to get done with little-to-no effort.

As I sit in The Abeebo for the evening I’m thrilled with all we accomplished today ~ as a family.

Until next time…

About angeloftheisland

Welcome to An Angel’s Island. I’m Tracey (aka angeloftheisland). I’m also Mom to 19 year old Matthew who constantly keeps me on my toes. He’s our “special” boy who shows us daily how he deals with the world of ADHD, a Nonverbal Learning Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome. He’s my hero. Marcus is 8 and reminds me everyday that he’s in no way going to make the school years boring for his Dad and me!! I’m also wife to Mike for 25 years now. Mike is my best friend and soul-mate and he has showed me over the years, that yes – dreams do come true. Our life may not be the most exciting but there’s always something going on. Welcome to our Happy Place, newly renamed Hilliard's Happy Hideaway. I hope you enjoy what I’ve shared about our family.
